"How to Write Kids Fiction". A Workshop with Joe Craig & Anthony McGowan

Sunday October 13th. 10.00am-midday at The Big Green Bookshop

The children's fiction market is incredibly hard to crack. With all the other distractions out there, being able to write a book that appeals to kids takes something special.
And Joe Craig and Anthony McGowan have that.

Joe Craig is the author of the bestselling Jimmy Coates series. The first book in the series was one of the biggest selling children's book debuts of 2005 in the UK, and since then his 'Jimmy Coates' novels have become a hit with young action-thriller addicts everywhere, winning awards and inspiring 8-13 year-olds to become keen readers. His tall tales, improvised stories, and surprising theories about writing have enthralled and entertained audiences every bit as much as his Jimmy Coates books.

Anthony McGowan is one of the most widely acclaimed young-adult authors in the UK. His books, including The Knife That Killed Me, Hellbent and Henry Tumor have won several major awards, and been shortlisted for many more. He has also written The Bare Bum Gang series for younger children, the hilarious Donut Diaries and recently he was commissioned to write four Willard Price Adventures. His latest novel, Hello Darkness is a return to the darker, edgy fiction of his earlier novels. A psychological, plot driven novel, with unforgettable characters and some amazing twists.

Join them over croissants and coffee as they offer some priceless tips and advice for budding writers.
